Microblading and powder brows healing, day by day
Fresh brows go through a few stages before they settle, and some of them can be surprising. Knowing what is normal makes the first two weeks much calmer.

The timeline
- Days 1–3Brows look darker and sharper.
- Days 4–10Light flaking or dryness.
- Days 10–14Color can look lighter or uneven.
- Weeks 4–6The final color shows.
The first healing takes 7–14 days. The final color shows in 4–6 weeks.
Days 1–3: “Are they too dark?”
Almost everyone asks this. Right after the appointment the color sits on top of fresh skin, so the brows look darker and sharper than they will be. This is expected. Give it time and don’t judge the result in the first week.
Days 4–10: flaking
Light flaking or dryness is part of normal healing. It can itch a little. The most important rule of the whole process: don’t pick or scratch. Pulling off flakes early can pull pigment out with them and leave gaps.
Days 10–14: the “ghost” stage
Once the flakes are gone, the color can look lighter or uneven, sometimes as if it almost disappeared. This is normal too. The color comes back as the skin finishes healing.
Weeks 4–6: the real result
This is when the final color shows, and when you can judge the result. It is also the right time for the touch-up.
Why the touch-up matters
Every skin holds pigment a little differently, so after healing some spots can be lighter than others. The touch-up is a second session 4–6 weeks after your procedure that perfects the shape and color. At IMAGE it is not included in the procedure price. Valeria does touch-ups on her own work only.
Aftercare
You go home with aftercare instructions from Valeria: how to clean the brows, what to avoid and for how long. Follow them exactly. They matter as much as the appointment itself for how your brows heal.
When to call a doctor. Some redness and tenderness right after the appointment is common. If you notice redness or swelling that gets worse instead of better, warmth, pus or a fever, contact your doctor, and let Valeria know too.
How long will it last?
Microblading usually lasts 12–18 months, powder brows 1–3 years. It depends on skin type, sun, skincare and metabolism. A color boost keeps them fresh.
